Impossible, Useless "Game"

Do yourself whatever the opposite of a favor is & go play QWOP--a game-like thing in which you control individual leg muscles on an Olympic runner. My best is a respectable 8.8 meters. Try & beat that. But first, watch this hilarious video:

UPDATE: I got to 10 meters! Must stop....

Scandinavian Clown Havoc

At first I thought I could come up with some witty remarks to preface this video, but it truly begs to stand on its own:

Strange Androidesque Lady Plays Various Percussion Instruments (Poorly)

I guess these videos were made for some kind of instructional video...which is odd because I'm pretty sure this lady is terrible at what she's doing & has no business instructing anyone to do anything ever.

Let's begin with this awkward bit of high-hat demonstration:

Pretty terrible. Her cymbal work, however, will top that with jilted movements and awkward facial expressions:

Thus far our rhythmically-challenged friend has been showing at least some minute skill, but the following "thundersheet" demo requires none of it:

This has to be my favorite video, & thus saved for last. Where to begin? The slow start, the excruciating wait & stare that is the entire last half of the video. What is going through her mind? "I'm the best gong-player this side of [Where could this person possibly carry out her life?]. As with most things on the internet, this is best watched ad infinitum:

Eefin' Revisted + Interspecies Eefs

I recently discovered one of the finest websites of all time: Immanent Discursivity. The fine folks there posted up two Eefin' related videos, which, of course, you remember from our own Eefin' post a ways back. Things are a little different this time around, & way, way freakier:

This next video I can't even begin to explain:

Mysterious Found Imagery

This may be a break from the "found on the inter-web" part of this blog's tag line, but I found the following images today on the original Internet--The Sidewalk. The four images were arranged in a pamphlet, 2 on each side folded in half like a book. I can't come up with any explanations for these, so please leave comments.

Man Makes Noise in Dark, Cluttered Room.

While scouring YouTube for prepared guitar videos I came across this delightful little piece:

Jarringly Weird Hillbilly Vocal Tradition

That's what Beware of the Blog calls the act of Eefin'. Difficult to explain, but as always, readily understood through video:

The Eater of Meaning

Here's something funky I stumbled upon. It's called the Eater of Meaning. I'm not sure how it works but it turns text on webpages into hysterical gibberish.

Here's what it does to this blog:

If you click those links above, you can then click those same links on the gibberish page of this post & that'll take you to another gibberish version with links there too & on & on & on into absurdity!

It's like some kind of internet rabbit hole.

Enjoy this hysterical mashup of techno music and footage of some kind of church service. Amazing.

"Kosher" Music Defined

Rabbi Ephraim Luft of Bnei Brak, Israel has taken it upon himself to define "kosher music" and ban everything that doesn't fit that definition. In my opinion, this amounts to an abuse of power and an assault on the human spirit.

BBC reports. Make sure you look at the Rules for Playing Kosher Music.

Patafilms

I just discovered these "patafilms" on the Archive. I'm not sure what is really going on yet. There are lots of these little films and an accompanying blog. Hopefully more viewings and reading will lead to enlightenment...or something. Enjoy!

The Spinning Dancer

Here's the Spinning Dancer tani mentioned below:

She can spin clockwise or counter-clockwise depending on how you look at it.

Color Illusions

I stumbled onto this site with a fine example of the color illusion (not sure if that's the proper name). That led to the Spanish Castle picture, which led to this list of other pictures with the same illusion. Stare at the dot or one spot on the weirdo color pic, then mouse over the image to revert to black & white, but the photo will look like it's in color until you move your eyes! Very strange experience.

Also crazy, the Spinning Dancer.

The Thylacine

Dig this site all about Australia's Thylacine, an extinct carnivorous dog-like marsupial. Bizarre.

Amplified Cactus

Yep, amplified cactus! Greg Jenkins uses contact microphones attached to cacti and makes sounds by plucking the spines. Pretty fun.

Watch the video from Australia Adlib.
